Habitat: Slow moving, shallow water in sandy drainage.
Description: Perennial +-30-60 cm; short rhizomed. Stem: 0.7-1.5 mm diam, some cylindric and some +- flat. Leaf: distal sheath firm, persistent. Spikelets 6-14 mm; basal bracts appearing to be 100% around stem. Flower stigmas 2.
Reproductive Condition: Flowering

Notes: Probably E. macrostachys. Dense patch.
