Description: Plant robust, to 2+ m tall; petiole and peduncle deep purple red; spathe 10+cm, leaves glossy.

Notes: Large, well known patch, present here for many years. This is the horticultural selection of the species, 'Fontanesii' with dark bronze/purple stems, glossy leaves, and slightly narrower leaves. Plants in full flower.
