Habitat: Chamise chaparral - coastal sage scrub interface. Open, moderately west-facing slope.
Substrate: Red-brown, silty sand soil.
individual.ASSOCIATED_TAXA: Adenostoma fasciculatum var. fasciculatum, Rhus integrifolia, Hesperoyucca whipplei, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Artemisia californica.
Description: Perennial herb, ca. 2 meters tall. Basal leaves dried, brown. Inflorescence a single erect shoot with several inclinded lateral shoots. Flowers mostly closed (2:45 PM) or drying. Corolla white.
Reproductive Condition: In flower.
Notes: Bulb not observed. Only one individual. A single lateral shoot of inflorescence and three dried leaves collected for voucher so as not to kill plant.
