Substrate: Light gray-tan silty, fine gravel soil.
individual.ASSOCIATED_TAXA: Adenostoma fasciculatum var. f., Artemisia californica, Malosma laurina, Rhus integrifolia, Eriogonum fasciculatum.
Description: Perennial herb, 1-2 meters tall. Sepals yellowish, with red-brown areas abaxially. Petals yellow, apices red-brown with red-brown trichomes, and prominent gibbous pouch at base. Ovary and anthers brownish.
Notes: Not common. Ca. 12 individuals seen on trail. Only one flower with pedicel and bract removed for collection.
