Habitat: In open flat (ca. 4 meters across) of hill ridge. Immediate associates: Lotus scoparius var. scoparius, Brachypodium distachyon. Surrounded by extensive grassland (mostly Avena barbata, scattered Nasella pulchra).
Substrate: Brown, fine (silt-clay) soil, with scattered, large pebbles at surface.
Description: Perennial herb. Underground stem a corm (arising from and adjacent to last year’s corm), each bearing several erect inflorescences. Corolla, anthers yellow; filaments, pistils yellow-green.
