Habitat: Mostly E and SE facing slopes. With Salvia mellifera (abundant), Xylococcus bilcolor, Baccharis sarothroides, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Malosma laurina, Adenostoma fasciculatum.
Reproductive Condition: Fruiting
Notes: Shrub laying horizontal to 1.5 m. Decumbent and ascending foliage. Blades glabrous except for a few hairs on some margins between dentations. Many achenes persistent, but with a few black-shelled bugs possibly consuming them. Uncommon, more near top of mountain.
